Are you following the campaign for Houston City Council?
Much of who Cris is and what she knows came from living in more than 12 cities, connecting with more than 100,000 individuals, and consciously communing for thousands of hours (as an introverted extrovert).
As someone who attended Jack Yates High School in the historically-Black Third Ward in Houston (attended by George Floyd Jr. and Phylicia Rashad) and grew up in the historically-Hispanic East End neighborhood, it was imperative that Cris take advantage of every opportunity for insight.
Through pure luck and a lot of tenacity, Cris grabbed what she could and managed to graduate from Howard University, cultivate a successful journalism career and build a tech company.
Cris started her career as a reporter at the age of 14, working for a Houston community newspaper (The Houston Defender) and the NAACP-Houston Branch. Throughout college, she held internships at major publications around the nation (The Roanoke Times, The Houston Chronicle, Dow Jones Newswires, The Associated Press). In her professional journalism career, Cris covered more than a dozen local governments in Indiana, Middle Georgia and Memphis, and was known for holding public figures accountable for their actions and inactions. She dug through public documents and made public meetings accessible through digital updates and virtual programs (in the year 2013).
Cris began her first business -- WrightNow Results -- in 2016, after a three-year stint in the C-suite for a Harris County department. She has also cofounded a virtual country club for CEOs who work remotely (The FAM).

Why are you Catching Cris?
What makes her so busy?
Cris committed to life as a digital nomad in 2021, determined to finally enjoy life after two decades as a workaholic. She spent nearly three years in whatever city made the most sense for her in the moment, enjoying the moments right before her eyes, and fortifying and clarifying her sense of self and purpose.
The self-proclaimed transient spirit in Cris enjoyed dropping into new communities, getting to know the underbelly and unleashing as much knowledge as those in her path needed.
In 2024, Cris returned to the best city she knows: Houston. She is now firmly focused on the communities that set her foundation, improving infrastructure for civic organizations and working on community service projects.
As a high-functioning depressive and multi-talented expert in a society that pushes "hustle" and "success," this is how Cris fuels her tank. Hands in the dirt. Talking to community leaders and members. Organizing the pieces for maximum community reach.
Therefore, if you need her, you gotta Catch Cris. And she has built many ways to do just that.
